Well hello! By popular demand I am finally back. Just kidding. Though some people have made little comments, asked questions, etc. I am sure that for the most part you have not noticed I have been out of action for almost seven months.
For those of you that have asked what happened to my blogging, I really have no other explanation other that I have just been plain busy. I have sat down to write a new post dozens of times since I published my last one in June. I actually wrote multiple posts that I didn’t end up posting for one reason or another, but this time I am determined to post (if you are reading this, obviously my determination paid off).
Nate and I have had a lot going on since that last time I updated my site. I will get into that good stuff a little bit later. For now I thought I would start off with the obvious and talk about resolutions. I am not big on New Year resolutions because I’m the worst at keeping them. 2016 was finally my exception! I made a goal to say yes to all of the reasonable opportunities I was presented with and step out of my comfort zone. At times this goal was quite frightening, but for the most part it taught me more than I could have ever imagined! This new mindset I adopted helped me meet some very influential people, land an amazing job and have countless other little experiences that I would have normally missed out on by staying in my “no” comfort zone.
Last year’s resolution was such a success that Nate and I have began mapping out our goals for this year. My personal goal is to begin to write again. I feel like lately there is a negative stigma attached to writing a blog. The thing is, I still really enjoy it. I love looking back and remembering what I was feeling at different times of the year and seeing how much I have grown in that amount of time. I like hearing from my friends and family that they can relate to what I am going through. I just like expressing myself through the written word! So though I am not sure if anyone will even tune in to what I have to say, I would like to keep writing, even if it is just for myself.
We also made a goal as a couple to make this our year of new experiences and living in the moment. We are still working out the details, so stay tuned as we update you with what exactly that means (winky face).
Looping back to the beginning of this post, it has been a long time since I have filled you in on our lives. If you follow along on Instagram, you might have caught some glimpses into what we have been up to. Here is a little look into the second half of the Nokleby’s 2016:
Nate and I both graduated from BYU-Idaho and moved to my motherland of Las Vegas, Nevada where we both have fancy new jobs. Nate is also in the process of applying to medical school! (Everyone please keep your fingers crossed for us)
We caught up with old friends, while making some new ones.
We celebrated some of our favorite holidays.
We spent a lot of time with our family.
We spent a little bit of time at Disneyland (though my other goal for the year is to spend much more time there).
And of course, we have been spending loads of time with each other.
I’m excited for what 2017 has in store! I have a feeling this will be our best year yet.
Thank you for tuning in!
